Did you know that the air we breathe is filled with countless synthetic chemicals? It's alarming to realize that even within the comfort of our own homes, we may unknowingly expose ourselves to these invisible culprits. From scented candles to air fresheners and personal care products, synthetic fragrances have become an integral part of our daily lives.
However, beneath their seemingly innocent allure lies a dark secret. These artificial fragrances are teeming with harmful substances such as phthalates, parabens, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can wreak havoc on our health over time. From respiratory issues and allergies to hormonal disruptions and long-term implications, these dangers should not be taken lightly.
As a holistic health enthusiast, I am passionate about empowering individuals to make informed choices about the products they use every day. My mission is to bring you simple education enabling you to lead a healthier (less toxic) lifestyle.
CLEAN DOESN'T HAVE A SCENT
Those clean and refreshing smells are the exact loophole the industry has used to get those toxins into our homes. Regulations have permitted the fragrance industry to hide toxic chemical formulations as a trade secret. The fragrance in any one product could be a mixture of hundreds of chemicals. It’s estimated that 95% of the chemicals used in these fragrances come from crude oil. As a consumer, it’s shocking to know how many fragrance products are not regulated by the FDA.
THE SCARY TRUTH
84,000 industrial chemicals are used in household items. 200 tested by the FDA and ONLY 5 regulated by the FDA. Chemicals are not being tested in a lab; they are being tested on us. A lot of these chemicals have never been tested for human safety prior to being released to consumers.

• Nail products
• Baby products
• Laundry cleaners
• Scented lotions
• Cleaning products
• Aluminum foil
• Non-stick cookware
• Shave gel / Body wash
• Antibacterial soaps
• Air fresheners / Candles
• Plastic food containers
• Skincare / Haircare
• Perfume / Cologne
Literally every single thing we put on our body requires us to look at the label to see if it contains synthetic fragrance. But who doesn’t like that coconut smell in sunscreens? Manufacturers know that consumers respond to scent, so fragrances are created in a lab to closely match natural aromas.
With our strong sense of smell, these aromas trigger an emotional connection to the products.
LACK OF CHEMICAL REGULATIONS
There are actual trade associations that represent corporations that intend to get rid of any chemical regulations. One of the most powerful is the American Chemistry Counsel. With deep pockets of money, ACC lobbies to avoid regulation that would affect companies’ bottom line. Billions in profits at our expense. Watch the documentary Stink; it will blow your mind.
And to make reading labels more difficult, a study in 2011 by Environmental Impact
Assessment Review found that even so-called “green” or “eco-friendly” products contain
dangerous chemicals labeled toxic or hazardous under U.S. federal laws.
What the heck?
So, maybe you give up and decide to just live with smelly kids and a dirty house. It’s
exhausting to have to read every label, wondering if what you are using is safe. Since no one
has your back in making sure harmful toxins stay out of your house, your newfound mission is
to keep your family safe by doing your own investigative research to build personal
awareness.
There ARE companies, products, and friends that care about you, including me. There is a solution and I can help. You don’t have to worry. No more secrets. No more toxins. Period.
